I just uploaded my first video to my YouTube channel (mattstech1) going along with the first post. My plan is to do a video for each post, so hopefully I’ll end up with lots of both. Any ideas? Email me - mattstech at gmail.com.

Contrast Ratio. For those of you who do not know, the contrast ratio on a TV is a ratio of the brightest color to the darkest color that the set is capable of producing. Simply put, a higher contrast ratio will result in a richer picture. The brights will look brighter, and the darks will look darker. Always shoot for the highest possible contrast ratio in order to maximize your viewing experience. My Samsung 32? has a 7000:1 - and believe me, the
Get your act togeather and do not believe the Mfg’s Spec.s, the Contrast Ration is the most blatient , redicelious, irrevelant fact protrayed by the Mfg’s. The major factors are Refersh rate in Hz (90Hz up to 120Hz (Samsung and a few Sony’s) ) (120 Hz =120,000 per sec the screen changes from picture to black, (first scan picture, 2nd scan black) so at 120hz you actually see picture 60,000 per sec. plus 60,000 per sec of black) #2 Response time: the time it takes the screen to respond to movement should always be at min 9mls best 2mls(Samsung). the faster the response the less the ghosting, the better the picture. Now Add Samsungs MCFI or (Micro Frame interpolation) in which the firsat scan is picture yet with MCFI the sccond scan of the screen is also picture as it is a snapshot of the previous scan) so at 120hz you are seeing picture 120,000 per sec with MCFI compared with 60,000 per sec without (notre the first scanb is picture, the second scan is black) so always devide refresh rate by 2 unlsee MCFI is imposed, at present this is only available on Samsungs.. Additional note is that all SONY LCD Screens are produced by Samsung, Inc, Korea, andf that you are paying double the price for techonology in Sony develo0ped and shared with them by someone else, mostly Samsung. NO SONY LCD’S AT PRESENT HAVE MCFI, A FEW HAVE 2MLS RESPONSE TIME, AND 120HZ REFRESH RATE, bUT STILL SUFFER FROM Ghosting because of its lack of MCFI, Samsung has over come that with its technology. Want the best in LCD buy Samsung, and pay half of what Sony Charges. NOTE All Sony’s sold in the US are made in Mexico, CHECK THER MFG TAG ON THE BACK OF THE SET.

Already proven you wrong on your post suggest you retract your misleading statement and post the corrected correct Research, of the most Testing labs have produced on Contrast Ration is 800 to 1 on a Sony 52′ LCD HDTV 1080P, with A Blu Player. Which confidentially is not updatable, uses HDMI 1.0, New players being released will have HDMI 1.1 (more colors and better surround sound up ti 7.1, and the only way to update is to trash you Current Blu-Ray and spend $600.00 for a new one. Later will come what Sony calls 2.0 which will have what HD-DVD already had: Internet connection to update the HDMI output, interactive content, etc., yet the only way with Sony’s Blu-Ray is to trash you current player and purchase a new player, Sony dupped the consumer again, because HD-DVD already had all of these features, and used HDMI output 1.1 to 1.3a which is better sound up to 7.1 surround sound, andf more that 3x the color content of Sony’s HDMI 1.0. Factually Sony bought out Disney and other studios, as they Wal-Mart Corp (whom I work for) you could purchase the HD-DVD Players but could not find the Content for them, because Wal-Mart thru its deal with Sony refused to stock and or sell them, certifiyiong its over stock sales of the Blu - Ray DVD’s. Would you buy a Pontiac, if you could not get Pontiac Parts, that answer is HE?? NO, and Sony’s Special underhanded deals prevented the content from being sold , for special Price reductions, and Deals with these companies.. Bottom line do not buy a Blu-Ray DVD player as it is the older ones non-updatable on the shelves, rather buy the PS3, it is updatable right now to HDMI 2.0, over the Internet, and will play
Blu-Ray DVD’s. CAUTION: Backwards Compability to Standard DVD’s is limited to 5 Years. Example I have Disneys FANTASIA on DVD, it will not paly on PS3 of Blu-Ray DVD players, as it is over 5 years old, yet it will play and upscale on Toshibias HD-DVD player. (NOTE: FANTASIA is the best of WALT Disney’s productions. buy Walt Disney himself, and Disney went Blu-Ray, nothing will ever equal FANTASIA in graphics, Sound, or color, unless it is remade in Blu-Ray format. I loved as a child, my kids loved it, and my Grand Children Love it but it onlys plays on a Toshibia, HD-DVD player and upscales. My advice DO NOT PURCHASE A SONY BLU-RAY DVD PLAYER FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 2 YEARS, TO GET TO OLDER ONES OFF THE SHELVES, AND THE NEWER ONES WHICH ARE UPDATABLE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. To do so you might as well flush that money down the Toilet, because it is wasted on something you will not be able to use.
