Goodbye, Linux (for now)

Well, my little experiment with Linux is over for now and I am back to XP for my main OS. I’ve given it a go but it never worked quite right for me. I spent more time trying to get things to work the way I wanted versus actually being productive. I know from reading some of the comments to my previous posts I’ll get some flack for that but that doesn’t matter. It is my computer and as one of my friends said who uses Linux exclusively said: use what OS is right for you regardless of what it is. I’ve heard many a Linux user say that your computer should work for you, not you for it. So XP it is (not spending the money on Vista). So goodbye Linux (for now). I still have a few live distros to spin up once in a while…

I am not going to criticize, as I totally understand. I do want to say, however, that for most people, Windows wasn’t something immediately mastered. The only OS I know of that seemed ‘natural’ to me was MacOS, which had everything where it made sense. [I use XP also, but have Linux machines, and STILL I think the Mac Performa 6290 I have, which can do little or none of the work I need it to do, makes the most 'sense'.]

It’s not your fault that you were born and raised under history’s most oppressive monopoly, and so don’t know anything different.
Better luck next time!

linux is a good os which gives good security, no virus wories and real cool eye candy for less hardware requirements but u cant get use to it for some apparent reason like u cant get use to the enviroment such as you rather pefer ms office over open office…you can even get some .exe applications to work on it too but i guess we are to use to xp… still the live cd of linux is a real life data saver
