Yahoo! Answers was launched on December 8, 2005. It’s a place where anybody can ask and answer questions on a variety of topics. Compared to Google Answers, Yahoo! Answers is free to use.

Questions range from the trivial, such as “How does Jack Bauer stay awake?” (Jack Bauer is the character is the popular TV series 24) to more serious ones like “What questions should we ask a general contractor for a home remodel?”

As a marketer, you can establish yourself as an expert in your niche by providing good answers to questions asked about topics related to your product or service. You can add more information about yourself or your company in your profile section or just by including a URL to your site below your answers.

Users who are also in the Yahoo! Publisher Network can also make money when YPN is integrated into Yahoo! Answers. It’s not clear at this point how this is going to work.
