A team having the most victories, highest winning percentage, the most finals appearances in any NBA franchise, and the second most championships behind Boston Celtics, attaining the record of the longest consecutive win streak in U.S. sports team, missing the NBA playoffs only 5 times– they are LA Lakers, who, according to Forbes Magazine, are the second most valuable basketball franchise in the U.S. Bought as Detroit Gems in 1947, they relocated to Minneapolis. From 1949-54, they won five championships with Hall of Famers, eventually moving to Los Angeles with the wealth of talent and foiled by Boston Celtics. Until 1972, they secured first championship in LA. Led by 1996 coaches, O’Neal and Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers won three consecutive NBA Finals from 2000-02.
