About A Canadian Geek

This is a Canadian perspective of tech that ‘Amurricans’ may find to be new and different

I’ve been interested in technology since I was six years old - that’s when Dad started teaching me how to repair a bicycle. Eventually I started racing them - I like to go fast, whatever it is I’m doing (well, maybe not when doing a couple of things ;-) ). I’ve been playing with computers since 1996 - when I got a Windows 3.1 box and upgraded it to 95 - and was scared to click on the Start button, for fear that I’d break something. I started asking friends and reading, and eventually returned to college in 2000 at age 43. I took a two-year diploma program in NT 4 networking and database design that was completed in ten months. Since school I’ve been working in the IT industry and for the last four years have run my own company, repairing computers on the customers’ sites and providing other IT services. I currently own far too many computers (and want more), and in my spare time I try to keep my cars running (I can fix almost anything).
