Recession Proof Business

Believe it or not, there is hope during a recession. And while others are out there selling you on ideas or business plans that will more than likely end up going up in a puff of smoke once an educated person examines what they have to offer, there is still hope. The key to avoiding scams in this area is to go with your gut. If you are asked to join something that does not feel right, avoid it like the plague. As for gathering information for a few bucks here and there, I would consider this building an education.

Forget about “getting a job”.
Possibly one of life’s biggest lies is the promise of life time security in consistent employment. These days, if there is such a thing, it is very rare. I myself, took the bull by the horns and opted to work for myself while taking on the risk of failure. The result has been generally good.
But obviously, some of us are in jobs or businesses and need to remain in place. So what can be done to minimize the impact of sudden unemployment or worse, decent jobs/business opportunities disappearing completely? Unfortunately, this is difficult to provide one single, perfect answer to.
If it was me, I would consider leveraging everything I know or have accomplished in the past and find a way to make money during this rough period. It can be done, but it is not going to be a cake walk. To get you started, here are some general ideas.
Some recession proof business ideas.
1) Consulting. While I certainly would not put all of my eggs in this basket by itself, so long as you are willing to work like a madman to provide sustainable ideas and input, along with providing other services for a company looking to cut back on typical employees, you can supplement your income here.
2) Computer repair. So long as there are Windows PCs, the Internet and people who cannot keep their PCs from crashing, you have a job. I did this for years and I will tell you know, if you can handle people and stress, the money is rewarding.
3) Analyze handwriting for profit. Whether you are doing it for parties or hired by another professional to check out someone’s handwriting (where the law permits, of course), you could become highly sought after in the area of handwriting analysis. I suspect private investigators might find people with these skills quite handy to have on retainer from time to time…
4) eBay sales. Be creating a business cleaning out people’s basements and attics or instead, becoming a power seller, there is still money to be made here - otherwise eBay would have gone out of business a long time ago.
5) Fund raising. As tough times come about, things get pretty sticky for many non-profits without any idea how to bring in fresh capital - this is where a new funding raising business can be quite profitable.
Still bent on sticking to a job?
Hey, I understand, there is something compelling about a steady paycheck. Well I have you covered here as well. These may not be choice jobs per se, but they are legitimate work at home jobs that I recommend highly. And as always, beware of less than reliable promises from the network marketing business. Not say they are all bad, just thinking you better be aware of who you are giving buckets of hard earned cash to.
