Trusted Websites Could Be Scamming You

Think you are on the website you intended? Think again. Websites that use everyday may indeed, not be something that ought to be totally trust worthy.  You can thank:

  • Open redirectors
  •  ISPs that knowingly allow phishing to take place, generally overseas from the US
  • And of course, compromised web sites and message boards.

Just how big a deal is this problem? Take a look for yourself, see any domains you recognize?

  •  bellsouth.net
  • verizon.net
  • google.com

This list goes on and on. What can you do about defending yourself? There are dozens of options out there, I recommend Netcraft myself.
