Banner Ads Serving Up Malware

If you are running a successful website, happen to be using Doubleclick, you better keep reading. As I have long since suspected, malware providers are looking for any means possible to install malware onto your computer, but doing so with otherwise benign sources.
Recently, I learned that banner ads serving up malware to unsuspecting users has really become a major problem. What is sad is that the victims of this kind of attack are not even needing to click on the ad in question.
Who is responsible for this kind of sneaky attack? Is it the advertising service or the people creating the ad in the first place? In this particular instance, experts suspect that AdTraff, a company guised as an advertising company, is the responsible party. Thus far, no one has received any commentary from AdTraff on their alleged involvement, yet with that aside, it only takes a little research to see that the likelihood of their fingerprints being all over this is quite severe.
