Yahoo! Provides Phishing Protection - Finally

Well it is about time someone does something on the Web mail side of things! Wait, Google offered this back in 2005. Still, it is great to see Yahoo! joining the ranks of the living in the meantime. But unlike Google, Yahoo! has outsourced some help from our friends at OpenDNS.

Now many people have pointing out that phishing protection actually starts at the browser level, rather than the email level. Personally, I totally disagree with this approach and believe that it always better to nip this in the bud at the delivery of the messages containing these threats to safety and privacy. Where I do see progress being made, however, is the collective belief that it must be the community that decides on what is a phishing scheme and what is legitimate email. This is very important as most artificial means remain buggy at best.

So again, congrats Yahoo!, for taking a stand stand against this increasing problem.
