PDF Spam On The Rise

It’s creative to be sure, but is this just another passing concept in the grand scheme of things? Spam ploys have been bouncing around for years now and for the most part, have proven successful despite the best efforts of the average computer user. And even while anti-spam efforts have certainly improved over the years , what kind of real protection do today’s applications offer from pump-n-dump spammers, as one serious example? Not much, that’s for sure. And considering the likelihood that PDF spam is here to stay, it’s going to be a long day for everyone receiving this type of stuff.

In response to this latest threat, I will be working on a simple tutorial that will show you that when combined with other filtering solutions, Bayesian filtering options such as the cross platform POPFile will actually filter this type of mail to a junk folder without much effort at all.
