I, like many on the Internet are fans and supporters of Ron Paul for President. It is unlikely that Ron Paul will get the Republican nomination for President. I do feel that Paul could hold is own against the Democrat and Republican nominees as an independent or as a third party candidate, like the Libertarian Party (which he was the presidential candidate for in 1988).
Once the nominees are decided, whether its Clinton or Obama against Romney, Huckabee or McCain, with strong potential independent/third party candidates like Ron Paul and Michael Bloomberg, the eventual winner of the Whitehouse could do so with much less then 50% of the vote.
With all the above already said, a great deal of power rests with the congress. So if Ron Paul should not be elected president, and chooses to run again for his house seat and is successful, I would encourage all voters to call their congressperson and tell them you want them to nominate and vote for Ron Paul as their Speaker of the House, despite their party affiliation.
