I can’t tell you how excited I am about the introduction of podcasting to Tivo in March.  This was announced in January at CES.  This will be nice because so often I do not want to spend my time downloading a lot of these podcasts just to watch them when I have a quality tv that I should be able to watch.  This is something that has been called for by the Tivo community in general.

Now you are more than likely asking why am i discussing it now.  It is a simple matter.  Tivo more than likely is going to release this through their Tivo Desktop software version 2.6 very soon.  Now is the time to get a Tivo so that when this does go live to the general public you’ll have a Tivo box that is ready to handle these capabilities.  Hopefully this will be released in such a way that it acts seemlessly similarly to the way that Tivocasts work.

I am projecting that more than likely this will be released around the first week of March.  Though approximate dates are given I have found that with Tivo you need to have your own estimates because dates get pushed back a lot.
