Wii Play hard to find

I was almost in big trouble. You see, it was Allison’s and my plan to spend Valentine’s Day playing Wii Play and then have a nice dinner.

I was at EB Games on Monday and asked if they had any in yet. They said Wednesday, but said they’d be hard to come by so I might want to pre-order it. Because of my knee-jerk reaction to anybody trying to sell me anything, and the fact that EB always says things are hard to come by, I said no thanks.

Upon getting home, Allison asked, “why didn’t you preorder it?” Good point. We had store credit there and we knew we were going to buy it. I didn’t have an answer, but thought I wouldn’t have any problem getting it today.

Boy was I wrong.

I called EB yesterday, just to make sure that they hadn’t gotten any in yet and they said it’d be today. So, today, at 10:00 am, I started calling EBs. Well, they got them in yesterday, and they only got enough for pre-orders.

I started calling around to all of the EBs/Gamestops in the area. Ten EBs later, still no Wii Play. OMG!!!, I thought. I’m going to ruin Valentine’s Day!

Allison suggested that I call two more EBs at Lloyd Center (Portland, Ore.). The EB employee on the other end of the line made my day. He said that they have them. I asked him to hold onto one for me and he said he would.

Away we go…Valentines is saved!!! (let’s just hope he wasn’t lying)

UPDATE:  Got it!!! Phew.  He actually had a few, so we bought two, one to give to Allison’s dad.
