Coke Vercetti Super Bowl ad scores

If you were one of the millions who watched the Super Bowl yesterday, then you probably saw the GTA-inspired Coca-Cola ad starring a look alike Tommy Vercetti. According to GamePolitics, the ad did really well, particularly amongst the under-17 crowd.

What’s interesting is that here in Portland, we’ve been seeing that ad before movies at Lowe’s Cinemas for at least the past half year (and also the Coke bottle through time ad). We’ve always thought it a good ad and are glad that it’s getting a positive response.
On a side note, Portland’s Wieden+Kennedy did the ad, which maybe is why they were testing it here?

I like the Coke commercial too. I also had seen it in our theaters here in Florida for at least six months. I thought maybe they were test marketing it here. It was a Muvico theater so it’s not like they even picked a single chain to try it out with. Interesting.
