I Want More CD Warning Labels

Personally, I think that the “explicit lyrics” are an artist’s choice but I like being informed enough to make the choice to mostly stick with SFW material. I think we should take it up a level.

Seriously though, if the Surgeon General can put warning labels on tobacco products to protect our health, why can’t the Attorney General put warning labels on RIAA CDs to protect our pocketbooks?

Here is my proposed list, feel free to contribute with comments:

  • ATTORNEY GENERAL’S WARNING: RIAA policy causes technological stifling, lawsuits, supports racketeering and really doesn’t support the artist.
  • ATTORNEY GENERAL’S WARNING: Boycotting the RIAA now greatly reduces your risk of being involved in sham litigation.
  • ATTORNEY GENERAL’S WARNING: Use of P2P for college students may cause loss of college fund. (Actually, that is a lie. You don’t even need to own a computer to be sued.)
  • ATTORNEY GENERAL’S WARNING: If you honestly believe that P2P caused a 69 billion dollar loss, buy two, send the RIAA your address and request to be sued. People like you will likely think that fair.

1st, What is SFW? Next, this seems to hit you a litle close to home. Been downloading all your music, instead of buying CDs?

The RIAA is completely wrong in much of what it does, but if you purchase CDs, you not only have no worries about litigation, you have backup of all the things you listen to.

What Do You Think?
