35 Chances for you to Boycott DRM

Good Day Readers. For any of you who have been here before, you know how I feel about DRM or, as I call it, "Dumb Retarded Mismanagement". (For those of you who may have been off with Rip Van Wrinkle, it really stands for Digital Rights Management.) There are many, many reasons I hate it. The first reason being is that it automatically assumes the customer is a criminal. Second, it restrict your freedom of use, with that in mind, it is more realistically "Digital Restrictive Management".

Does it make sense to buy better, faster tech and then shut everything off? Personally, I insist on DRM free. I am offended when I am FORCED to watch a "Do not steal" PSA BEFORE I can watch the DVD I just bought. Consequentially, if the clerk can’t tell me I can bypass previews and/or propaganda, I don’t buy the DVD. I am that opinionated about it.

I am not here to go on and on today but, with holiday shopping, consumers have choices to make and, in fact, are casting economic votes. Over at Defective by Design, they have started a series to make you more aware of the choices you have. If you care about this DRM issue, I would suggest you check the series often. Remember you are a customer not a criminal, a pirate or a litigation target. Insist on being treated like a customer. Thanks for Reading.
