uStream Updates

uStream is apparently slowly rolling out a bunch of updates to their website. The rollout appears to be staggered, but right now we’ve got:
A brand new broadcast screen, which shows both the local video, as well as the remote video being delivered to your users. This should help in diagnosing problems with the stream. Bonus points: the server monitor is disabled by default, to help manage bandwidth.
A new recording interface that is a bit more intuitive than before: easier to record and stop recording, making it more obvious when you’re recording and not.
A new video player, which includes an updated bug (the uStream logo doesn’t take up a ton of space), a new menu (which comes with a “view fullscreen” option), and a new color scheme. Also, the video overlay includes a “live” or “recorded” text, to indicate if the stream is currently streaming live or not. Excellent.
It seems pretty solid. The biggest improvement, from a users point of view, is the way video is presented: the uStream branding is still there, but it’s not as intrusive as before.
Overall, it seems to be a nice upgrade. I can’t wait to see what else is in the works :)
