Should I really have the preface this with anything? Yeah: I’m not being serious Have a laugh, or just ignore me.
Guys, this is getting ridiculous on a level that is just stupid. I think it’s every two months now that we’re having this conversation: should gay people be allowed to serve in the military? This latest round is brought to us by Gen. Pace, who said that homosexual acts are immoral. And, out here in redneck central, there has been an outpouring of support for this mans comments.
Look, folks, I’m getting sick and tired of this conversation. This, abortion, the death penalty, and flag burning are just some things we as a people can’t seem to agree on: hell, even my parents generation argued over this crap! Can we please figure this out and, as a people, move on? Please? There has to be something else to argue about, other than the human condition.
I can answer all of these questions for you right now:
Should women be allowed to have abortions? Yes. Life is not sacred, despite what your particular 2000 year old book told you. We’re nothing more than a stupid chemical reaction. If life was sacred then we shouldn’t have abortions, but every time some trailer-trash housewife or ghetto queen gives birth we should just arrest the child there and keep them in the prison system.
Should we use the death penalty? Yes, but only in specific cases. You see, the death penalty is nothing more than a symbol. If you take another humans life for fun we should be allowed to take yours for fun. We’ll make it a PayPerView event.
Flag burning, should it be illegal? No. Why not? Because it’s a freedom we as a people enjoy. And no, I don’t give a crap if you or your daddy “fought for that flag” because you don’t fight for a flag, you fight for an ideal. Fighting for a piece of fabric made in Korea is just stupid.
Illegal Immigrants, are they really harming America? No, they’re not. They’re not taking your jobs. They’re not stealing your income. They’re not taking your land. How do I know this? An illegal immigrant, despite his/her talents, is not going to be able to get a job that pays more than minimum wage. If you consider working at Wal*Mart a career, you should really reassess your life. Sure, they may be in the country illegally, but they’re just trying to make a new life for themselves. Give them a chance, would you?
Should gays be allowed to serve in the military? I’ll let Bill Hicks answer this one: “Anyone dumb enough to want to serve in a military force should be allowed to.”
Really, America, it’s time to grow up.

You’re allowed your opinion. I’ll stick to my Bible. Even it wasn’t truth, it’s teachings are worth living by.
In the end, I feel sorry for you. Is having personal freedoms with no limits worth trading eternity for? Not in my book. I’ll gladly accept some boundaries that The Creator set up in order to gain eternal freedom. And if in the end I’m wrong, what have I lost? A life without booze, drugs, rock & roll. Please, that’s no trade off at all.
By the way, I’m not even remotely a red neck. I’m a fairly intelligent person with a professional career. Red necks are no different than anyone else on this planet. They have good points and bad points. None of us is perfect, so none of us should be casting insults.

Tom, you seem to have missed the overall point of the whole post (aside from getting a laugh): we, as a people, have not mentally matured over the course of an entire generation. We’re fighting the same war and asking the same questions we were asking in the previous generation.
While the basic questions have been slightly altered, their focus remains the same: “should women be allowed to …” “should blacks be allowed to …” ” should gays be allowed to …”
In essence, all we’re asking is “should {group that does not conform to my standards} be allowed to {do something I can do}”
We really need to grow out of this mental phase if any social advancement within out culture is to be possible. As a society we’re the equivalent of an 8 year old boy yelling at a girl “you can’t play with me because you have cooties!”
You seem to have taken personal offense at me attacking the Bible. Let me be clear about this: your beliefs are your beliefs, I respect them but I don’t want them. I think it’s fine that you’ve chosen a life which is guided by the Bible.
As for the insults (which the Bible-bashing really falls under) I’ll direct you to the first line of my post. If you don’t like the humor, or find it offensive, then I would suggest you don’t read my posts or listen to my podcast.
I could write an entire novel on why it’s OK to be an asshole (as I am in my humor), but 25% of the people would call me a racist, 25% would call me a sexist, 25% would call me a moron, and the other 25% wold try to enlist me in the KKK.
Humor is a very subjective thing and if my brand of humor does not interest you then you’re not the niche I’m after.

This planet is dying. The green house effect, it turned out worse than we had expected, and the arctic icebergs are melting. The oceans are poisoned by rusty oiltankers. We are being poisoned by the Coca-cola aspartame toxico Company, and religious bigots are overbestowing us with false hope. Without war, hate, greed and rage the human race cannot exist. The human race was never meant to survive, how’ s that? Soon the human race will destroy itself altogether with nuclear big fat kabooms and everything will turn back to normal. You will hear not ONE complaint by the time everything and everyone is gone. Our salvation won’t be necessary any more, because we won’t be around by the time we have destroyed this world . How about that? Why save their souls if you can send them to hell altogether? Hehehe!…
