A Hard Days Night

Today was hectic … and tomorrow is shaping up to be worse. Let’s not even discuss Sunday. Today I accomplished a lot, starting at 8am and ending at around 5:30pm:

- Bought $250 worth of groceries at Shop-Rite for our Christmas party this Sunday.

- Had to take Mom shopping at the Mall. Oh, what joy.

- Went spelunking to Lowes to get a bucket to brine the Turkey in.

- Went to some smelly Asian grocery store to get Japanese bread crumbs.

- Went to Stop & Shop to pick up some groceries that Shop-Rite didn’t have.

- Drove back home to unlock the door for dad, then picked up mom at Stop & Shop.

- Unpacked everything and stuffed it all in the fridge.

Needless to say, I’m tired. Of course, I might complain about it now, but in all honesty this stuff is worth it. I mean, with our busy lives, we only get to see the family once (or twice) a year, and providing them with a great Christmas party (plenty of food, drinks, and games) is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done in my life.

Alright, so it’s a “Christmas party” only in the sense that it happens on Christmas Eve, otherwise it’s really just an excuse to have the family over, get drunk, and eat great food.

Merry Christmas everybody :)
