Halo 3 Public Beta

Just so everybody knows: the Halo 3 public beta will be open for registration soon.
The registration program will be up on December 4 at Halo3.com. The beta is only open to American 360 owners.
In some other news various players (including well-known Microsoft employees) have been spotted on Xbox Live playing a new game called “Pimps At Sea (Alpha).” For those of us familiar with Bungie, “Pimps At Sea” is the oft-used internal moniker for various projects within the company.
Of course, when asked about it, Bungie simply replied “what’s a pimp?”
If you happen to catch Major Nelson on Xbox Live, ask him how “Pimps At Sea” is, and if it’s worth waiting for ;)
So, with the pending public beta rumored to start on December 4th, your chances of taking part in this event are looking pretty slim: every single American Xbox 360 owner is going to try to get in on this. But, there is hope:
This “public beta” is more marketing hype than actual play testing. Which means that Microsoft wants to get as many people in on this as possible in the time before Halo 3 actually ships. So, even if you’re not selected now for the public beta there’s a good chance that Bungie will have a second and third round of “public tests” so that an even larger number of people can get hyped up about this game.
It’s just a waiting game now.
