Wal-Mart has finally announced their console release plans and are currently accepting pre-orders; but, they are currently “out of stock” and only being sold in rich-man bundles:

The Nintendo Wii Customer’s Choice Game Bundle includes a Wii and 8 games of your choice … for $648.38, saving you $1.62! It’s amazing how much of a discount Wal-Mart offers theircustomers.

Coming in at $1,421.98 is the PS3 Customer’s Choice Bundle, which includes the Playstation 3, Playstation 2 memory card, second sixsaxis controller, 2 Blu-Ray movies, and 12 (!) games of your choice. Newsflash: Wal-Mart, after posting their bundle online at 12:30 noon was sold out in a few minutes.

Of course, there’s a strict limit of 1 per customer, and there’s no guarantee that if you order these bundles that you’ll get them this year (in fact, you won’t get the Playstation 3 bundle anytime soon, since they’re already sold out).

The Playstation 3 is anticipated to sell out in the US on its first weekend (thanks to Sony’s strategy of low production to enhance hype), while the Wii is anticipated to be much more available thanks to its higher production rate.

In either case, if you plan on getting these bundles: could you send some money my way?
