Nintendo Wii Unwrapping Orgy

The Nintendo Wii is here, and the reviews and previews are quickly pouring in. Everyone from 1up to IGN are releasing their reviews, and their opinions vary from “it’s a kids machine” all the way up to “zomgzorz this rocks!”
This is, of course, normal. Reviews — especially before the hardware is officially release — are the backbone of the review industry (? … I’m not sure what else you would call it). What’s new this year, sparked by the popularity of social networking websites and YouTube, are the plethora of unwrap and setup videos. You know what I’m talking about: a video of some pale 30-something opening a package from Nintendo, taking the Wii out of the box, and setting it up.
I have a question for the blog-o-sphere: who the hell is watching this crap?
Seriously, what is the target demographic for a video that basically says “look at me, fanboys, and weep, for I am a professional reviewer which posses the Wii, and you do not!”
Could someone enlighten me on this phenomenon?
