Guitarix Gives JACK Some Rock

Oftentimes it is difficult to explain the importance of JACK audio to those who are not doing something specific with audio editing. However, Guitarix is one such app that provides a clear demonstration of just how effective JACK can be when it comes to providing a rock guitar amp with your computer.
Definitely not an application for everyone, but Guitarix is very cool for those who are into electric guitar. Functions provided appear to mirror what you might find with comparable software from the proprietary software world.
There are other guitar effects programs such as Rakarrack, however, it is Guitarix that remains in a class all its own by providing actual amp features to the casual musician using the Linux desktop. It’s actually pretty cool stuff.

Sadly the docs and other support stuff looks terrible. And the total lack of distro specific packages tends to be a bit of a turn off. But I think the software is cool otherwise.
Now this is how we provide support for an open source project.
Twitter, videos, how-to install and so on! ;)

Despite Guitarix’ lack of “tutorials”, packages etc, it sounds amazing if you tweak the settings a little to personal taste, and 3 commands should have you running the program..
Having said that, I was turned off it around a year ago due to lack of build support/feature videos etc. However it currently has multiple skins, and IMO user-friendly features!
I’d advise everybody to give it at least two chances!
