Open source soda pop? Seriously? Yes, there really is such a thing. But unlike its software cousins, OpenCola is clearly not seeing anything close to the level of success seen with the various open source programs out there.
So what do open source apps and drinks have in common? The fact that the recipes/code are totally available to anyone who would like to view them or remix things to meet their own needs. It’s actually a pretty cool idea.
Are there honestly any prospects for being able to build a business around an open source soda? Not too likely I would imagine. No, unless there was a venue available where people could simply mix their drinks to meet their needs. A reverse tavern, of sorts perhaps?
