Interview With Pulseaudio Creator

There should be an image here!Despite some folks having issues with Pulseaudio in some Linux distros, the fact of the matter is most people love it. Well, those who are not running machines from 8 years ago or using select sound cards that apparently do not play well with the code involved. I have used it on over eight PCs and notebooks, have only had one issue that turned out to be Skype’s fault and was later fixed.

Regardless of of whether you love it or hate it, the guy behind the concept has managed to stir up plenty of emotion from just about everyone. Needless you say, if you use Linux, you likely have thoughts you wish to share with PulseAudio’s creator. And in this interview, he lets the world know just what he thinks of naysayers. Kudos, as far as i am concerned.

The great thing about Linux is that if you dislike something, you can remove it. I have no doubt in my mind that some people struggle with it, but the fact of the matter is that competing on a modern desktop means having a system in play that does not lock up a sound channel with a single source. Anything less that what Pulseaudio provides, is simply not welcome in my home. But to each their own…it’s just my perspective. Besides, 99% of the problems that are not driver related, are easy to overcome.
