From LUGs To Tradeshows

I have to admit that I was really never one for the LUG (Linux User Group) scene. Difficult to pinpoint why exactly, it was just never my bag. And these days, I rarely have free time as it is anyway.
In this article, I was reading about how yesterday’s LUGs have evolved into larger conventions and events, often attracting open source based businesses such as Google. And having been to a few of these myself, you would be surprised at how many networking opportunities tend to present themselves.
But perhaps the one thing that has thankfully not changed over the years is something known as the install-fest during these events. This is the one occasion, where anyone who is interested in waiting their turn can instantly have more Linux help than they could possibly imagine to get Linux installed onto their computer.
