Single Window Or Detached Window GIMP!

For years, I found myself defending the photo editor known as GIMP simply because it was different at some level. As absurd as this will seem to most Linux users, this comparison to Photoshop has been an issue for quite some time.
Well some of the mystique that has kept many users away from GIMP looks to be in a potion to bring on some stronger choices. Finally, we will see the option of adding in either a single panel or simply going with multiple panels as per normal when using GIMP software.
The idea of using single or multiple windows comes down to basically allowing the end user to make a choice themselves, with the option of tearing off your docks as you see fit. I love this because there is no absolutism here whatsoever. Fantastic!

I love Gimp, don;t get me wrong though I use Photoshop still on my Win Box but there is nothing better than Gimp for the Linux box it works and it is powerful.
The fact that GIMP supports the photoshop brushes is brilliant as can carry them across both OS :)
Go GIMP ;)

I haven’t tried it yet but I’m wondering if it’s possible to put the panels back to back, using Compiz. I’ve been wanting a feature like this for Firefox for a long time, a rolling toolbar. It would take up a lot less screen space and once you get used to the hot key it would be so quick and easy to flip the panel over to get to another.
