Awesome New Video Editor

I will make no bones about it, video editing in Linux is a mixed bag. Still totally doable, especially when factoring in the awesome editor built into Blender (the 3D render). Yet despite this advantage, many of the applications are either very poorly designed from an intuitive perspective or will simply crash on you.
In the past, I have done my video editing from either KDENLive, KINO or Cinelerra CVS edition. But honestly, all of them are pretty “meh” overall. And it’s not like I am asking for the world here.
Then today I discovered the most attractive, easy to use and likely to remain stable app for simply video editing I have ever seen on any platform. OpenShot. While still very much in development, lacking some features that are still being worked on, I was amazed at how effective this was even considering its youth. It is SO simple, that even the most newbie of users will be shocked at how clean it’s UI actually is.

Try Avidemux. It’s easy to use and multi-platform.
