Are You An Ubuntard?

While I am not all that thrilled about the name used to describe certain Ubuntu users, I do recognize the point being made here in this website about them. Yes, some Ubuntu users are of the mind that Linux is Ubuntu and vice versa. The truth is actually that Ubuntu is merely a distribution of Linux and there are many other flavors out there to choose from.
Honestly, I like Ubuntu. But I also like Puppy Linux, PCLinuxOS and Linux Mint, too. So I think I am safe from this categorization of being called something negative. Where I think existing non-Ubuntu users become frustrated is that there is a flood of new users trying Ubuntu for the first time. Many of them are of the mind that Linux is Ubuntu only.
I can feel the frustration from this, especially with the likes of Debian users. Here are people who have been using Linux distros for a lot longer than Ubuntu was even around and the Debian base is suddenly being turned into a newbie freak show. So should people stop being enthusiastic about Ubuntu? Not at all. But it would be nice for folks to fully understand what Linux is and that there is a world outside of Ubuntu only releases.

Tough luck! For Linux to achieve any headway as a whole one Distro as to gain name recognition beyond the Linux scene not five thousands Distro, just one! Am not even sure it going to be Ubuntu but somebody as to try being friendly to new users.
Peoples need to stop acting like they are owned something because they use to run Linux a few years before everybody else. If we want to break the “hobbyist OS” stereotype we need a serious attitude adjustment toward new users. The whole snobbery and elitism associated with so many Linux community as to go. For Linux to keep growing some peoples need to grow up!

Fair enough, cannot argue that.
BTW, this is a really great, simple way to edit pictures with tremendous ease and lack of the advanced features. In short, my mom uses this.
