Yet Another Buntu To Boot With

There should be an image here! How many ‘buntus do we actually need here? Apparently, if the desire is to provide options for the slowest of the slow machines, there is never enough. And to answer the call, it seems that we can now look to Lubuntu for all our low resource computing needs.

Utilizing the Openbox windows manager, Lubuntu is designed to work well with computers running with less than 256 MB of RAM. For those who are wondering, I would mention that it is safe to point out that this is a solid alternative to the existing low resource ‘buntu known as Xubuntu.

Will Lubuntu overtake Xubuntu as the target release for legacy computing appliances? It’s too soon to tell just yet, but I do see Xubuntu losing some of its market to those looking to use Openbox out of the box, without needing to bother with setting up outside of Xubuntu specifically.
