Why Aren’t More Schools Using Linux?

Are US schools really this adverse to using open source technology? Is it due to a perceived lack of support? Maybe this is the general consensus, however I would say that slowly but surely, US schools are moving over to open source/closed source mix out of the need for budget cuts.
A simple Google search will show you that over the years, a few US school districts have opted to jump out of the rats maze and at least consider using open source software when possible.
In some cases, I have seen Linux being used exclusively for every aspect of the schools needs. Thanks to some many software operations being able to be run from a service vs software perspective, this change has not been as hard fought as some people might expect.
