Is Windows Ready For Prime Time?

It’s an interesting look as to whether or not Windows is ready for the mainstream market. Besides the fact that the article is clearly preferring Linux, there are still some valid points brought up along the way despite being a bit biased.
Points made about security (running as admin), drivers and other frustrations for the most part are pretty straight on. While there are always going to be some very selective peripherals that do not work as expected, it is common knowledge among full time Linux users that hardware support is fantastic with new and old.
So I guess the big question remains - is Windows really an OS that is ready for prime time? Despite me preferring Linux in every way I would admit that it is the legacy software, availability and the fact that it is what most people already know that has Windows being the likely choice for most people. So whether it or Linux is ready for prime time, is in many ways beside the point.

? Wasn’t the blog a parody of OS critiques? Perhaps I was the only one who read the line: “public service announcement: this is tongue-in-cheek parody”?

You’ve got to be kidding! Windows is the king of desktops being on over 90% of the computers and you ask is it ready for prime time. The question shouldn’t be is Windows ready for prime time but is Linux ready for prime time?

Come on. I am a Windows User but I use the best of Windows XP. I gotta say Vista gets beaten like a red headed step child when compaired to Linux. The problem with M$ is they say “We know what you want” yeah right. Microsoft Vista destroys my inner child. It crashes more than ME. The main issue is it’s architecture. Windows 7 is going to use the same shitty architecture that Vista has. The only saving grace is the Win7 XP mode. I would not dare talk smack about another OS after Microsoft dropped that headache known as Vista. Linux is great Leopard is cool, Vista just blows.
