Is Moblin Intel’s Attack On Windows?
Most people likely never really consider just how involved in Linux Intel is these days. From their hardware support down to their support of projects such as Moblin. In many respects, it seems like Intel is taking a more market approach to netbooks exclusively while Canonical and others, are open to other desktop situations.
Moblin most definitely has a lot going for it, what with Intel working to make it workable, other Linux providers also finding aspects of it worthwhile for possible inclusion with their own distros.
But is Moblin truly the best distro for netbooks? Ah, that is a rather pointed question what with Xandros, Ubuntu’s own flavor designed for netbooks, along with whatever else comes along in the next few years. Frankly, out of the box, I suspect it will be a tough tie between Ubuntu and Moblin on the Linux front, but only time will tell for sure.
