Wii Fit Linux Style

There should be an image here!Have to be honest here, at first pass the idea of having a Wii Fit board attached to your Linux box does not sound all that exciting. But what the author of this article is failing to recognize is that it provides a tremendous proof of concept of just how interactive Linux games could be.

Case in point, my Wii guitar and Frets on Fire. I have played this game extensively and I must say, it could have not worked easier with the guitar. By default, the game is designed to work with the keyboard. So all I had to do is go into the game settings, then set the buttons for the guitar in place of the keyboard presets. Easy-peesy.

Does this mean that Nintendo goes out of their way to support Linux? Not at all, rather it means that they do not go out of they way to BLOCK support for basic bluetooth functionality. And that is greatly appreciated.
