AmaroK 2.1 Beta Is Ready To Roll

Back in my KDE days, I was a huge fan of amaroK. It is, without a doubt, one of the most compelling music players I have ever seen. With the smart playlists, cool add-ons, and cover art before many other apps for Linux even had such a thing.
Today the playing field is a bit more even, what with advances with applications such as Banshee, Rhythmbox, among others. But for folks such as myself, amaroK was my first real “wow” in the music dept.
For others, other favorites may prevail. But despite all of the options out there, amaroK 2.1 is looking really good. While most of the goodies included with this release are moreless improvements on existing features, there are still a few things here worth note.

thanks for the positive comments about amarok!
i’d just like to note that your screenshot is from a pre-2.0 unreleased version, i would approximate about 1-1.5 years old. Amarok has come a long way since that screenshot, and it would be a shame to ignore all the advances that 18 months have allowed us to make.
