I Am Linux And So Can You!

As much as I would like to report that the “We are Linux” video content offered up by the Linux Foundation was a smashing success, I personally found most of the entries to be either poorly done or worse, completely off-topic. I was happy to see however, that at least one of them, made enough sense to remain on-topic and obviously, surface as one of the winning entries.

The video, while not really all that compelling for those looking to see what Linux can do on the desktop, did on the other hand point out quite clearly the advantages of choosing Linux over the proprietary alternatives. All of this said and done, there were some other videos out there that also did fair job at pointing out the advantages of using Linux. Yet despite this, I was disappointed that all of the arty crap could not have been overlooked and the practical side examined. Meaning, if I had better video editing skills, I would have created a video showing off what one could do on a Linux system…

But hey, at least the video managed to forgo the usual my OS rocks and your sucks routine, as we are seeing going on between Microsoft and Apple. So I guess this is a step in the right direction, despite the video not being all that appealing to the masses.
