I will be honest here, I just have a hard time understanding the advantage of using a minimalist approach to writing. Still, the piece below does present an interesting argument for it.

I think that anything that empowers people to jump head first into the world of open source is a great thing in my opinion.
OK, 3D Xgl is very cool and all of that. But is this something that we really need on Ubuntu and other distros?
And so with real time Linux in embedded devices, we now have a device change to contend with.
So does Novell’s SLED have what it takes to turn the typical user? Depends on who you ask I suppose. Still, the results thus far are looking pretty good.

The concept of real time operating systems is hardly a new thing. But to hear about it coming to mainstream Linux distros does offer the promise of preemptive scheduling among other cool abilities.
Wow, it’s great to see that Red Hat has finally shown their real loyalty. It seems that they and Novell are simply not interested in taking on Windows. Instead, they appear content with working toward other ideals.
For those who prefer it, Symbian has a lot to offer. Still, I believe that in the long run, we will see Linux coming out a winner here.
