BitDefender Ships Linux-Based Security Suite

One of the things that I like to hear when software is coming out of Beta are the words “rigorous testing”. And since this was with help from the users, hopefully all will go well for the new BitDefender product.

BitDefender on Tuesday launched a security suite for mail and file servers running on Samba or FreeBSD.

The suite provides virus, spam and spyware filtering and comes in versions for enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses. Features include support for simple network management protocol, a remote administration interface and group management.

“Having just come out of an extremely rigorous, public beta testing period, the new BitDefender Enterprise Security Suite offers a suite of perimeter security solutions for users that require industrial strength protection from the growing list of vulnerabilities being targeted towards Linux operating systems,” Alex Balan, product manager for the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., security firm, said in a statement.

The suite is available for download on the BitDefender Web site. Source: TechWeb
