No matter what, the article below largely reflect opinion. Not saying that it’s not true in some sense, but still…it needed to be said I think.

Please Note: This post is based on a beta version of Dapper Drake, and as such, things are likely to change before the June release. I will copy this post and make any necessary amendments as soon after the release as I can.

After booting the Live CD, the desktop contains some shortcuts - one of which is to start the installation. When launching the installation, the first screen is a warning about Dapper being beta. It specifically notes that the installation may involve resizing partitions - something you don’t really want to do with beta software! Since I’ve nothing on these disks to lose, I’ll go ahead. I wouldn’t recommend this for most users though, I’d suggest you wait until the final release in June!

While I love the fact the installation is now inside Ubuntu, the actual wizard steps are currently quite messy. I suspect this is simply because it’s still in beta, and it’ll be given a polish before the release in June! The first screen lets you choose an installation language (though I’m not sure you’d have gotten this far if it didn’t match the language Ubuntu is currently appearing in!).

That’s easy enough. The second screen is much like the one in Windows, and is for setting the city and time zone. There’s also a “Set Time” button should the time displayed not be correct… Source: Linux for human beings
