With the latest release of Fedora, there are now some needed improvements that some might argue are a little overdue. One thing that comes to mind, better hardware support.
Red Hat released Fedora Core 5 on Monday, with new graphics and virtualisation abilities included, as well as some desktop utilities based on a software framework from Microsoft.
Fedora is a proving ground for features later incorporated into the premium Red Hat Enterprise Linux product. It’s also designed to satisfy many Linux fans’ appetite for newer features and involve Red Hat outsiders directly in programming and testing.
Version five has a bucket of new features, according to release notes. Both of Linux’s major graphical user interface packages, GNOME and KDE, have been updated to versions 2.14 and 3.5, respectively. Source: ZDNet
