The word ‘ghetto’ keeps popping up into my head when I think back to the picture from the link below. But then you figure that it is a great project to kill off a weekend at your worries seem to fade away from there.
This is a network-controlled juke box I completed last summer and thought I’d post. Its a functioning Ubuntu linux computer and amp built into one of two large speakers. The final product can hold and play a little less than 20GB of mp3, aac, ogg, wav or other common audio files through its speakers and can be controled through a web interface.
Since I didn’t take any pictures of the construction in progress, this is just a rough description of the building process. In the future I’m hoping to post some more “how to” sorts of things, but this is just a general outline. [Read the rest]
