OSDL survey illuminates perceived Linux flaws

Not so much sure if this is a who’s who or a wish list for Linux converts? Either way, the study sounds pretty interesting and might be worth reading into if you have the opportunity…

The venerable Desktop Linux Working Group (DTL) of the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) has released an analysis of an October survey that they orchestrated to discern “barriers to Linux desktop adoption.” OSDL is a well-respected and much-loved organization within the Linux community. Their extensive commitment to the sponsorship of Kernel development, and their employment of Linux architect Linus Torvalds have earned them a position of prestige and impeccable credibility within the open source community. The DTL working group is an OSDL division that focuses on accelerating adoption and promoting Linux on the desktop in industry. The Desktop Linux Client Survey initiated in October was designed to determine why some corporate IT departments choose Linux, and others are hesitant to do so, with a particular emphasis on the needs of desktop users.
