Pot, Meet Kettle

Heh, this post actually reads like a story out of a book of fairy tales. But I believe that there may be a message in there, too.

So, there was this little company name Lindows who decided to make an operating system called, well, Lindows.

This made the big company called Microsoft very, very angry. “You will confuse our customers. They won’t know the difference.” said Microsoft. “No, no, no. Users are smart. They know the difference. They will choose us because you are big and mean.”, said Lindows.

So Microsoft and Lindows went before the great Oracle, uh, I mean Judge. And the Judge said, “No Lindows, you are wrong. Users will be confused. You must change your name.”

So Lindows became Linspire and everyone was happy.

Then one day a lonely developer decided that Linux should be completely free, so sayeth the Great Gnu. This lonely developer took all the bad trademarks out of Linspire and created Freespire to make the world right once again. [Read the rest]
