Linspire Five-O

While Linspire holds little interest for me personally, I would definitely recommend it to a total computer newbie. I mean, take a new computer user that has not even been introduced to Windows or Linux and I feel that Linspire could be a good fit for them. It is so hard to break!

Lately, Linux has been becoming increasingly at home on the desktop. Though the use of Linux is largely seen as only for the tech-savvy it has been able to make a number of inroads into the desktop market. This has been possible through the development of distributions which are generally easy to install, require little experience, and come packed with features.

Recently we reviewed a desktop operating system from Xandros, their Desktop OS Version 3 Business Edition. This product tried to differentiate itself by having an unprecedented level of interoperability with Windows. Linspire’s goal with Five-O is to provide users with the security, speed, and price advantages of Linux but with an ease of use that rivals operating systems like Windows XP and Apple’s OS X.
