Holy panorama, Batman! Yes, OSS has gone panoramic folks. While I have not had the opportunity to try this for myself just yet, I definitely am looking forward to at a later point.

Goal: an easy to use cross-platform GUI for Panorama Tools.

With hugin you can assemble a mosiac of photographs into a complete immersive panorama, stitch any series of overlapping pictures and much more.

hugin has reached release candidate state: the essential features are working and minor details are being refined before release.

hugin version 0.5 is planned for release in 2005. In the meantime up-to-date pre-releases can be downloaded for Linux, OS X and Windows.

hugin has been localised with English, Russian, French, Polish, Japanese, German and Italian translations. [Get the links]
