Greasemonkey pimps the web

Well I knew that Firefox was pretty pimpin, but with a plugin called ‘greasemonkey’, you can load custom scripts to specific sites. Check it out!

Designing for the web has always been more problematic than designing for print because we deal with cross-browser compatability issues. With Firefox, things are now even more interesting. greasemonkey is an extention to the open source browser that lets users load custom scripts which can modify a specific website whenever they view it. While it is only in use on the bleeding edge, greasemonkey customization could be the hacker’s tivo for internet sites, giving a level of control to the user that may be impossible to predict for online publishers and advertisers.
