OK, since we don’t have ineen for Linux just yet (although it is coming I am told), we need to look at getting Skype to doing the interview recording that is so critical with a good Podcast. Wait, is there a way to do this? It might just be possible using SIPphone, read on to learn more.

The solution presented in this article is highly Windows-centric, so we wanted to determine if a Linux alternative was possible using vsound and Skype or a soft SIPphone. With a little bit of research we have found that there is an alternative to the Windows software presented in the link above. In fact, couple the recording capabilities with SIPphone service, you have an awesome recording device that essentially only requires one person to have a SIPphone account, everyone else could be using their regular (PSTN) telephone.
