I also took notes on a panel on community practices with Brian Behlendorf from Apache/Collabnet, Josh from PostgreSQL, Chris Hoffman from Mozilla, Larry Wall from Perl and David Wheeler from Bricolage that may be of interest.

While we picture the inventor as a solitary, if not asocial genius — this stereotype is not often the case or on the topic of innovation. Invention is a disruptive breakthrough from pure research, that provides a platform for others innovate.
