To celebrate the launch of LinuxSecurity.com, the site held an IRC chat with several security luminaries including Brian Hatch, Jay Beale, Paul Vixie, Lance Spitzner, and Dave Wreski. Robin Miller moderated the session, and the transcript can be found here.
If you have any interest at all in Linux security, the chat session makes for some interesting reading. For newbies interested in learning about the implications of connecting a Linux box to the Internet, you’ll want to read about halfway through the session when they start discussing the future of antivirus on Linux and provide a few links for guidance on locking down those boxes.
While you’re there, be sure to check out the rest of the site. It’s loaded with goodies like white papers and HOWTOs, and there are forums and chat rooms where members can get together and discuss security issues. I’ve already added the site to my own bookmarks and plan to return frequently.
