Follow-Up 2: Dell Adapter Recall

Just a quick note of thanks to those of you who responded to my call for feedback on the Dell laptop defective adapter recall. The majority of you have yet to receive replacements, and at least one of you received an incomplete/incorrect part. I put together a letter to Dell by responding to my adapter order confirmation, with CCs to support@dell.com and customerservice@dell.com.

So far, the trend appears to be the folks who placed their orders early are the ones who are having the most trouble. I’m wondering if Dell (or possibly a contractor handling the recall) had a system problem and lost several orders. Just a guess, but it appears likely.

Hopefully we’ll have a firm answer soon.
